The high-end finish market
We expect Korea’s market for European porcelain Big Slab to grow from about KRW 230 billion in 2024 to about KRW 870 billion by 2030 (Lapis Analysis). Buyer-paid finish options in price-capped housing are projected to reach about KRW 370 billion by 2030 (external research and Lapis Analysis).
Price caps and paid options. Price-cap regulation pushes high-end finishes into options that buyers pay for. Feature walls and Big Slab countertops are the main examples.
Porcelain in place of stone. Digital printing now reproduces marble and travertine closely, and porcelain Big Slab is tougher and easier to install, so it is used well beyond top-tier projects.
No large supplier. Korean stone and tile distribution is mostly in the hands of small and mid-sized firms.
